THE TRAP OF THE LOST PARADISE

Director, Choreography and stage space / 2019

SYNOPSIS

What can we assert today about the human within the confines of technology, in its existential sway between the organic and the inorganic? What physical experience constitutes the Cyborg? What forms of pleasure do we rehearse within our indoor paradise, imposed as an expression of life in the Metropolis? Anonymous, androgynous, techno-humanoid bodies. Bodies-question that insinuate with their image the history of an artifice: Adam entering paradise without knowing what to do with the desire that stalks him; women-chickens learning to walk atop their heels; Amy Winehouse resurrected in the act of seeing and being seen. Will it be possible this time to blur domestication, to mock the hypothesis of an evolutionary and binary history? What sparks of subsistence and humor may emerge from the friction of the body with a crystallized beyond? What rebellions of the organism will erupt amid nonsense, confusion, and enthusiasm? We enter paradise. We dance the trap…
