BORDERLINE

Direction, choreography, stage space / 2023

SYNOPSIS

“This is my home, this thin edge of barbed wire” (G. Anzaldúa).

A woman dances and whispers on the border line. In a state of emergency, she tries to weave together signs that unravel between her fingers. What is it like to live on the edge, in a migratory state? The border divides outwardly, while inwardly it intensifies tensions that hint at assimilation, invisibility, and oblivion. In this space without a proper noun, within the thickness of this line where dissonances grow and coexist, ephemeral landscapes emerge that will overlay each other, tracing a repertoire of edges, limits, and expectations that even penetrate those buried within a body.
